We have regular theatre productions at the half moon.

We are building a home for quality theatre in South London.

The audience are always treated to an exciting performance that is both elating and challenging and a place where performers can feel safe to push their limits and grow.

We understand that the theatre of tomorrow comes from grass–roots-fringe-venues and feel a responsibility to create a place with the emphasis on excellence.

pilotLIGHT was set up in early 2009 by Hannah Almond, to create opportunities for herself and fellow artists and to gain control over producing theatre she believed in. 

With co-founder Tom Brazier, Hannah began to establish a program of theatre within the community of Herne Hill.

Recognising the potential of The Half Moon Pub, Hannah and Tom quickly began transforming this space into a new venue for fringe theatre. 

They started working on plays they loved and have been building a core team of actors to work closely with ever since.

In 2010, Tom moved to Bristol where he continues to work as a director.  Lucy Grattan joined pilotLIGHT in August 2010 and together with Hannah now steers the ship forward. 

pilotLIGHT is a grass roots company and as it continues to evolve, will always strive to be inventive, inspiring and ambitious.
